Christine Rizzo

(she/her)
Reiki Practitioner

I don't consider myself a typical Reiki practitioner. I am not one to ponder the mysteries of the universe or wax poetic about the depths of my spirituality. I never owned crystals. I found Reiki through my passion for yoga, through my need for stillness and to quiet my mind - always racing with the responsibilities of life.  After spending decades in the legal field helping people, but from behind a computer, I began searching for a more hands-on profession that would render purpose and fulfillment.

I signed up for the Reiki course on a whim, the skeptic in me wondering if Reiki energy was real, if it could work on me and through me. I admit to web searching "Do you have to believe in Reiki for it to work?" If you have done this search yourself, you will be happy to know the answer is "no."

On the first day of the course, I pulled a card from the deck the teacher brought with her and it read "Fulfillment." It basically said everything I knew to be true, that I was unhappy with my life in its current state, and I was looking for purpose.

So, I showed up. I learned. I practiced. I meditated (5 minutes at a time is an accomplishment for me). And it does work. Energy does move and I find it incredibly motivating and extraordinary to be able to help people by offering mobile and distance Reiki services to individuals and their animal companions with Reiki Therapy.
